>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> WinDraw Working Model <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Hello -
You're about to use the Working Model of WinDraw(TM), a drawing program for
Windows that sells for just $79. When a paint program doesn't suit your
needs, but your budget won't allow a $400-500 drawing package, WinDraw
is just what you need. WinDraw will help you create drawings that range
from simple to complex with a minimum of effort. WinDraw's features include:
* 14 drawing tools that create a variety of easily modifiable, vector-based
shapes, in variety of colors, line thicknesses and fill patterns.
* Multiple document editing, with no limit to the number of files you can
have open at a time. Cut and paste among several drawings at once.
* Symbol libraries, to hold often used shapes or drawings. You can use
a library's automatic updating feature to change a symbol, and instantly
update multiple copies of it in drawings.
* Full text editing support, including bitmapped and vector fonts, and the
ability to exchange text with other programs via the clipboard.
* Compatibility with other graphical Windows programs - embed drawings from
WinDraw in documents created by Word for Windows, Ami Pro, Paintbrush,
Corel Draw, Excel and most other Windows programs that support graphics.
* The capability to export files to both bitmap (.BMP) and Windows metafile
(.WMF) file formats.
* A full online help system, including drawing procedures, hints and tips,
and a Getting Started section.
* An illustrated, indexed manual with examples and a glossary.
* Both 5-1/4" and 3-1/2" diskettes.
The Working Model of WinDraw supports all of the features listed above.
The only limitations imposed by the Working Model are:
1. A drawing can contain at most 10 objects. (You can create as many
drawings as you like).
2. Any drawing that is copied into another program, or printed or exported
will include a banner showing that it was produced by the Working
Model of WinDraw.
Please use the Working Model of WinDraw as much as you like. Using the
Working Model of WinDraw does not obligate you to purchase a fully functional
copy of WinDraw (although we think you'll want to). You may also copy the
Working Model freely, provided that the help file WINDRAW.HLP, and this file
(READ.ME) are copied along with the program file. Please share the Working
Model of WinDraw with your friends.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
WinDraw includes an installation program to automatically install WinDraw
onto your system, but to save space, we've omitted the installation
program from the Working Model. To install the Working Model, you need only
copy two files onto your hard drive. Copy the Files WINDRW.EXE and
WINDRAW.HLP to any directory on your hard drive. If you are unsure where to
copy the files to, copy them into the directory that contains Windows itself,
or create a new directory for WinDraw.
You can use the Windows File Manager to create a directory and copy the files
from diskette onto your hard drive. The "Create Directory" and "Copy"
commands on the "File" menu will accomplish this for you. You can install
an icon for the WinDraw Working Model onto the Windows Program Manager
window by using the "New" command on the "File" menu of Program Manager.
There is no further installation or setup required to run the Working Model
of WinDraw. You do not need to modify any of your system files
(AUTOEXEC.BAT, WIN.INI, etc.) to use WinDraw. To run the Working Model,
either double click on your Program Manager icon, or use the "Run" command
on the "File" menu within either File Manager or Program Manager.
Once the Working Model of WinDraw is running, you can access the online Help
system at any time by pressing the F1 button, or by executing the "Index"
command on the "Help" menu. Any topic that is shown in green text can be
clicked on to access more information. You may want to click on the topic
"Getting Started" to run through an overview of WinDraw, and then access
help for specific drawing tools and procedures as you need to. You can use
the "Browse" buttons on the Help window to look at several related topics.
All drawing tools and procedures are described in the online Help system.
If you have a question about WinDraw, or about the Working Model, please
call us at (214) 960-7004 between 8 AM and 7 PM Central time. We think
you'll agree that WinDraw is an exceptional bargain among drawing packages
for Windows.
